Research project on QlikView was executed in the Luxoft Dnepropetrovsk location. The project involved a study into key capabilities of server and client solutions of QlikView product line.
Basic elements of QlikView platform:
- Server (controlling user licenses and access to report files)
- Publisher (centralized report files control; updating report files with adaptable schedule; reporting via email, ftp, web).

The main advantage of QlikView platform over similar solutions is its interactivity and high speed of processing large and complex data volumes. What also have to be mentioned is QlikView Desktop Edition – an environment for designing reports. It makes creation of reports fast and easy even for non-qualified developers.
A number of clients provided by QlikView platform and used for report visualization:- Client application Personal Edition: contains an extensive toolset for manipulations with report’s visual elements (must be installed on user’s PC)
- Web-clients: IE Plugin (downloaded with QlikView Server and installed on user’s PC)
- Java applet (requires a pre-installed java machine on user’s PC)
- AJAX client (doesn’t require additional pre-installed programs, but operates visibly slower than other web-clients
